Phlebotomy & EKG Practicum

This course reviews the anatomy and physiology of the circulatory system, the functions and composition of blood, common blood tests and their normal ranges, as well as the procedures, equipment and techniques used for specimen and blood collection. 

Also covered are the basic principles of electrocardiographic devices and their use in testing electrical cardiac impulses. Participants learn how to record and interpret EKGs, vital signs and cardiac rhythms with emphasis on variations of normality and patterns associated with common diseases.
